# Data checks for Workforce census

To help schools prior to running the Workforce census we recommend the following are checked on the staff records:

- Is current staff member - this should only be toggled on for current staff and not staff leavers.  (Viewed in Staff member block section)..  ![](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Apr-10-2026-10-01-33-8530-AM.png?width=312&height=47&name=undefined-Apr-10-2026-10-01-33-8530-AM.png)

Go to **People \> Staff** to view the staff listing page.  Using the 'Options' you can add additional information to view staff set as leavers or with no access.

Staff leavers should have a leaving date set in the MIS.

- Exclude from census - this toggle should be enabled for all staff who should not be included in the Workforce census.  (Viewed in the Professional block of the staff record).

Schools with Contracts disabled in the MIS should ensure all key staff information is completed in the staff record where the '+' is suffixed by the field name as this indicates information required for statutory data collections.
