[Exams](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/mis/exams?hsLang=en-gb) # External exam basedata #### **Required permissions** **To view or manage the basedata you will need the following two permissions found under the Exams drop-down.** **![](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Apr-09-2026-11-40-18-8537-AM.png?width=1023&height=848&name=undefined-Apr-09-2026-11-40-18-8537-AM.png)**   #### **Managing basedata** GO 4 Schools MIS will automatically import standard exam board basedata into the Exams module, allowing Exams Officers to easily select the awards they need.  Centre-specific basedata, e.g. BTECs, should be downloaded from the secure sites and uploaded to GO 4 Schools by Exams Officers (see separate guide [Uploading centre basedata](https://support.go4schools.com/en/support/solutions/articles/80001165912)).
