[Student records](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/mis/student-records?hsLang=en-gb) # Managing student and parent contact details The Student record page has blocks of information for individual student contact details that can also be linked to parents and siblings to save entering the same information multiple times.  This is done via the relationships linked to students. Information blocks will show for the student contact details and also family relationships with those specific contact details. #### **Permissions relating to student contacts** To view the student contact - name only, staff will need the 'Can view student contact - name only' permission, found in the 'Students' drop-down. To view the details, staff will also need the 'Can view student contact - details'. To manage (add/remove/edit) information relating to contacts they will also need the 'Can manage student contacts' permission. ![](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Apr-10-2026-12-17-47-6290-PM.png?width=1011&height=836&name=undefined-Apr-10-2026-12-17-47-6290-PM.png) #### **Managing student contact information** In most cases student and parent contact details will be added to the student record page via an import by either the CTF, ATF or migration of data to the GO MIS.  This will display on an individual student’s record in the ‘Contact details’ block. ![A white rectangular object with a black border Description automatically generated](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Apr-10-2026-12-17-49-6733-PM.png?width=1318&height=371&name=undefined-Apr-10-2026-12-17-49-6733-PM.png) Click on the ‘**Edit**’ button to access the modal to record additional information or to amend. New information can be added by using the ‘+Add’ button or the ‘+Add existing’ option will enable you to select from the relationships added as parents or siblings: ![](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Apr-10-2026-12-17-49-4301-PM.png?width=1009&height=378&name=undefined-Apr-10-2026-12-17-49-4301-PM.png) The same approach can be used for editing and adding email and address information.  It is also important to mark the phone contact details as ‘main’ and address as ‘current’ so the correct information will display for the student when viewing this block on the student record page. The contact details drop-down will display all the contact information held for the person, and each row can be deleted or edited by using the link on the far right.
