[Student records](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/mis/student-records?hsLang=en-gb) # Managing student healthcare plan records Individual healthcare plans can be added to the MIS so information can be made accessible to staff regarding students with disabilities or other health related conditions that may require special consideration. A healthcare plan is linked to an individual student where adjustments need to be made when they are in school. This differs from documents that can be linked directly to a medical condition or disability.  A student may have an Individual healthcare plan but not be listed as requiring SEN provision, the healthcare plan is not an Education, health and care plan which is assessed by the local authority. Both are available as document types in the GO MIS.  #### **What is an Individual healthcare plan (IHCP)** Medication may be required for a short period of time or just a single dose. However, for children with ongoing medical needs, it may be for a longer term or on a continual basis. Those that have continuing health needs should have an Individual healthcare plan (IHCP) that is reviewed annually or earlier if the child’s needs change. Parents should be consulted when developing an Individual healthcare plan and any relevant health professional should also be involved. Procedures should also be put in place for transition between schools. Individual healthcare plans are developed in partnership between the school, parents, pupils, and the relevant healthcare professional who can advise on a child's case.  #### **Permissions relating to healthcare plans** To view the summary details of the healthcare plans staff will need the 'Can view simple student healthcare plan information' permission, found in the 'Medical' drop-down. To view the detail, including attached information, staff will also need the 'Can view detailed healthcare plan information'.
