[Census](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/mis/census?hsLang=en-gb) # Post-16 census To check and set up details for the Autumn census: **Permissions** Users will require permissions for 'Can manage School settings' and 'Can manage courses'.  **Settings** **School \> School settings \>Contact details and Settings \> MIS Tab -**  Add in default hours for school wide preferences for post-16 courses.  One A 'Level and similar size equivalent qualifications are typically 360 GLH over 2 years of study. ![](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Apr-10-2026-10-00-18-7605-AM.png?width=670&height=136&name=undefined-Apr-10-2026-10-00-18-7605-AM.png) Note the 'Minimum completed tolerance' allows the maximum early completion in days before the course end date to qualify as a learning aim completion.  Any students with group memberships ending before this tolerance will be marked as withdrawn by default, although this can be overridden.  **Course information** Where courses do not use the default planned learning hours to ensure the post 16 is correct, additional areas of information are required.  **Curriculum \> Curriculum set up \> Courses** and select the course to toggle the 'Include in the post 16 census.  Additional fields will show to add in planned hours and Programme type.  Enable the toggles for default hours if this is a standard course.  The learning aim planned end date (the date the learning activities for the qualification are planned to end for each student) can be left to use the end of academic year or the date set to match the actual leaving date for students.    ![](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Apr-10-2026-10-00-17-6909-AM.png?width=670&height=183&name=undefined-Apr-10-2026-10-00-17-6909-AM.png)The programme type has 3 options: ![](https://supporttest.go4schools.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Apr-10-2026-10-00-17-2327-AM.png?width=642&height=164&name=undefined-Apr-10-2026-10-00-17-2327-AM.png)   Only courses that are learning aims should be toggled to include in the Post-16 census - no pastoral courses should be included.  EEP hours are handled via the Post-16 planned hours page.    **Checking student's planned learning hours** **Curriculum \> Curriculum setup \> Post 16 planned hours** - to view student's planned learning hours.
