# Setting up MIS Communications

GO 4 Schools MIS Communications includes the option to set up templates for email, text messages and mobile notifications that are used as standard responses for schools.  The templates are set up by area i.e. Attendance, Behaviour etc,  and per recipient: parents, students and staff.   To use templates the school must have the MIS and Enhanced Comms module enabled in **Settings \> Contact details and settings \> General tab \> Modules**:

*NB: This is an administration setting used by us, so please request if you wish this enabled.*

**Permissions**

The user requires the following permissions to view the Header and Footer:

- Can view communication header and footer

**Setting up Communication templates – email settings Header and Footer (Support team only)**

Details can be viewed with permissions at **People \> Settings \> Email settings**

**Set up Global tags** 

The user must have the permission:

- Can manage communication global tags
- The corresponding view permission does not allow the setup page to be visible.

 

Go to **People \> Settings \> Email settings \> Global tags** to access the page to add values for the tags used in the MIS. This includes:

- Headteacher name
- Main school email contact address
- Main school contact telephone number

Note that each tag has a character limit and will not save if exceeded.
