# Disabling attendance alias codes

The DfE have updated the addendum for recording attendance in relation to coronavirus - [**here**](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/school-attendance/addendum-recording-attendance-in-relation-to-coronavirus-covid-19-during-the-2021-to-2022-academic-year). They have advised the the X subcodes are to no longer be used for coronavirus.

While we look at disabling them programmatically, if you'd like to disable them for yourself immediately, you can do so via the attendance marks page, which is available from attendance settings:
