# Prerequisites for use of tiers two and three
Prior to purchasing tier two or three of the attendance module there are a few points you should consider to ensure that the transition to recording attendance data in GO 4 Schools is as smooth as possible.
- Feed System - For normal operation, information needs to flow reliably between your MIS and GO 4 Schools. GO 4 Schools needs to receive an accurate list of your students each day, and needs to be able to write back information about session attendance multiple times a day. A very small number of schools may not have reliable enough internet connectivity to support the use of tier two or three. In these circumstances we regret that we will not be able to offer tier two or three. Please see the disclaimer in the terms and conditions.
- Training and Awareness - Tiers two and three add facilities for recording attendance in GO 4 Schools **instead of in your MIS**. This is a very key point, as once attendance marks are being recorded in GO 4 Schools, they no longer flow from your MIS to GO 4 Schools. This is extremely important to note, as outside of very specific cases, attendance marks entered in your MIS are **not** copied to GO 4 Schools, and instead will be **overwritten** by marks in GO 4 Schools. **You must educate your staff so they no longer record attendance in your MIS.** To assist your staff, you may want to consider using the GO 4 Schools automagic (single sign-on) tool, which will allow staff to log in without having to enter an email address and password.
- Contingency plans in the event of a network outage - In the event of a loss of network connectivity between your school and our servers, you will not be able to record attendance via GO 4 Schools. You should develop contingency plans for dealing with this eventuality, in the same way that you should have plans in place in the event of an internal network failure preventing access to your MIS. If connectivity is lost between your MIS and GO 4 Schools, but marks have been recorded in GO 4 Schools during the period of outage, GO 4 Schools will update your MIS with all marks amended since the last successful write back.
