# Special student attributes
The special attributes that are in place will vary from school to school, depending on if you upload CAT data. The special attributes are used by GO 4 Schools in some statistic calculations, on the dashboards, as well as to record attainment data for certain cohorts. Special attributes are not populated by GO 4 Schools but must be populated with data by the school:
The **Disadvantaged** attribute is for you to flag up students (Yes/No) that are included in your disadvantaged cohort. This is different than your pupil premium figures as it should not include students that are pupil premium due to being service children, and does included looked after and adopted students. The **Key Stage 5 – at school/college for X years** attribute is used for the Best 3 A Levels statistic but only needs to be populated under specific circumstances, most notably if you have students that have only been in your sixth form for one year, or have stayed for three years. The **Nursery Student** attribute is for schools that use our attendance module to flag their nursery students so that they do not appear in registers, nor count towards attendance statistics.
The **Prior Attainment (KS1\_xxxx\_Outcome)** attributes are to hold the outcome results from your students’ KS1 results, they will appear in markbook popouts, and can be used to analyse attainment data for the various bands of students. This is mainly used in primary schools.
The **Prior attainment (KS2)** attribute only permits specific values, HPA, MPA, LPA, and NPA so that schools can create focus groups in line with the groups that are analysed by ASP and IDSR. By populating this attribute, the breakdown is also available on the school dashboard, as well as the governor and trust dashboards (if enabled). NPA (No prior attainment) is useful to use with students who did not sit SATs because they came from overseas or the independent sector.
The **Prior attainment (KS2\_xxxx\_Outcome)** attributes are to hold the outcome results from your students’ KS2 results, they will appear in markbook popouts, and can be used to analyse attainment data for the various bands of students. This is useful to look at the differences between students who were designated as secondary ready compared to those that did not reach the standard.
The **Prior attainment (KS4)(XXXX Cohort)** attributes are used for the calculation of Level 3 Value Added scores.
The **Student Statistics Rule** attribute is available for schools to either exclude or include students in statistics outside of normal DfE rules. This can be used if you’d like to see how a subsidiary dual registered student would impact your statistics if they were to count (by marking them as **Included in Stats**), or how a student you will ask the DfE to disapply will impact your statistics (by marking them as **Excluded from Stats**). This attribute must be set to an Academic Year timestamp to work correctly.
