# Tutor group attendance data tracking
There are several places tutors can access attendance data in GO 4 Schools.
**Markbook: Registration/All subjects**
There is a pop-out available which will provide cumulative attendance data. Staff can view information such as the percentage attendance and accumulated late minutes:
***Tip:*** *The registration markbook could be used to track other information, e.g., engagement in extra-curricular activities or as a weekly attendance tracker. Examples and templates are available to view and copy over from our demonstration ‘Sample markbooks’ site.*
**Registration groups link:**

From this link you can access the registration markbook (and the pop-outs) for any registration group, and you can also view a register for that group of students by selecting the icon.
You can also sort the groups, making it easier to locate the group you are looking for:
**Attendance stats and analysis links:**
- Click **Attendance \> Year group analysis \> Attendance stats** (select the year group for your registration group), or alternatively use **the Pathfinder \> Year group \> Year group attendance**:
Scroll down the page to the **Focus groups** table and click on the **Registration group** attribute (*if this is not visible it may be that it must be enabled for the analysis of attendance data by a school manager*):
You will find a scrollable table where you can compare the daily attendance figure for your group compared with all, and with other registration groups:
This page contains several graphs and tables showing how attendance figures have changed over time. You can view attendance for a set time period, for example last term, as alternative to viewing the cumulative data.
- Click **Attendance \> Year group analysis \> Attendance explorer** (select the year group for your registration group), or alternatively, **Pathfinder \> Year group \> Attendance explorer**:
From this page you can create (and save) a bespoke attendance tracking explorer for your registration group:
**Date picker**: Allows you to set a custom date range.
**Add/remove columns**: Can select the attendance and contextual information you wish to view.
**Load/save a set of columns**: Save (and access pre-existing) column sets. *Note that if you have a applied a filter to the registration group column this will also be saved.*
**Student postcard view**: View a summary ‘postcard’ for each child with an accompanying photograph.
Examples of useful columns, and the ‘Total’ displayed at the top of these columns:
**Late marks**: Number of lates for AM/PM session registers. *Note, if you are concerned about punctuality to specific lessons you could also draw in late marks for a particular subject.*
**Accumulative late minutes:** Support conversations around lost learning time.
**Attendance band:** Quick sort to view persistence absence or full attendance.
**Percentage attendance:** To reward 100% attendance for a week/term.
**Percentage unauthorised attendance:** To support initial conversations with parents.
- **Student page:**
The student overview page contains a summary of cumulative attendance data, however, by clicking the highlighted links it is possible to view detailed attendance breakdowns.
The first tab contains analysis charts and tables, the second tab allows you to view session attendance codes in a calendar view.
- Attendance summary: Heat map
This table highlights patterns of attendance across day of the week allowing you to easily spot patterns.
- Attendance summary: Lesson attendance by subject
This table allows you to identify any possible links between overall attendance and particular lesson:
***Tip****: Is there any correlation between lesson attendance and the heat map, ie. are lessons with low attendance timetabled on a day where the heatmap has also flagged low attendance?*
- Calendar view
Allows you to view AM/PM session marks in a calendar view:
- Parental contact details
When you are required to make a phone call home you can view contact numbers, email address and information held in quick notes (if enabled) via the phone link:
