# Using SIMS assessment manager to export results for use in GO 4 Schools
This process allows you to set up an assessment template in advance, ready to check that all expected exam results have been received, before extracting them to be formatted for upload to GO 4 Schools.
Your examinations officer should be able to provide you with the exam boards and entry codes for all qualifications with entries. Using this information, create a new assessment template and add the entry and result aspects, using the relevant exam season as the results set.
**Subjects with tiers will have separate entry and results aspects for higher and foundation.**
For the results aspects, change the column heading to match the subject name or QAN code in GO 4 Schools – this will save time once the data has been exported.
Once the results have been imported into Exams Organiser, open your marksheet and click on the **Summary** button. This will add rows to the bottom of your marksheet, and will display the count of rows for each column. This is a quick and easy way to ensure results have been received for all entries.
**All entry codes will be displayed, including ‘N’ if used, so check columns if there are any discrepancies to see if a result is expected.**
Before exporting the data, right-click in the **Student** column heading and select additional columns to display. Select **Date of Birth**, **Sex**, and **UPN** as this will give you options when uploading the grades to GO 4 Schools. You may also want to click on the **Summary** button again, to remove the extra rows at the bottom of the file.
Export the data by clicking on **Export \> Unformatted**, which will provide an XML file.
You will now need to use the **[Grade file conversion tool](https://support.go4schools.com/en/support/solutions/articles/80001045232)** to convert the file into the correct format for uploading to GO 4 Schools as described **[here](https://support.go4schools.com/en/support/solutions/articles/80000779669)**.
This process can be repeated, and split into qualification type, if preferred. Simply create a template for each sub-set of results.
