# Viewing/adding a consent type
Consent types are available under the **School** menu:
GO 4 Schools has already included some system consent types for schools to use if required, these are:
- Copyright permission
- Educational visit
- Emergency release
- Home/School communication
- IT consent
- Medical consent
- Medication consent
- Photo consent for external marketing
- Photo consent for internal school displays
- Photo consent for social media
To edit the display name of a system consent type, select from the list by clicking on the select arrow that appears as you hover over each consent type. The consent type name and the description cannot be altered for system consents, but can on custom consents.
The display name can now be edited, the consent type disabled and the audit trail of any changes made viewed:
#### **Adding a new consent type**
From the consent type page select **Add a new consent type**. A pop-up form allows the details of the consent to be added, including the name, display name, and a description:
Consent types can also be edited and deleted if not required. **Please note that consent types that have been requested and hold an updated state of - Given, withdrawn, or withheld are unable to be deleted.**
