# Behaviour event notification emails
To set up behaviour email rules for yourself, navigate to the **Settings** link which is found in the top right hand menu when you click on your name:
If you do not see a section near the bottom of the **Settings** page with the heading **My email notification rules** this functionality has not been enabled by a school manager. You will need to contact a school manager to enable this.
If you do have the section, clicking on the **Create a new email notification rule** button will bring you to the page where you can create your email notification rule. There are three types of rules you can create:
- **Send notifications for events raised in selected subject or group** - This will send you an email for the event types you select that are raised for a specific subject or group. This rule is typically used for a head of subject by selecting their subjects, or a head of house by selecting the registration groups that belong to their house.
- **Send notifications for events raised for students in selected year, subject or group** - This will send you a notification for any event raised for a student that **belongs** to a year, subject, or group. This rule is typically used for form tutors to get notified when students in their form have had events raised.
- **Send notifications for events raised for selected students** - This will send you a notification whenever an event is raised for specific students. This rule is typically used for a student on a report card, to monitor their daily activity.
When using either of the top two options, you need to select your group, clicking the **Change** button will open up the below screen. Initially it will load your groups, but by changing tabs you can choose any group in the school. You can only select one group at a time:
When creating a rule for selected students, you instead click **Add students...** which will pop up the student picker. With this selection you can add multiple students:
Once you have selected your groups/students, the last section allows you to select what behaviour types you'd like to be notified of. Select as many as you would like. Once done, clicking the **Create** button will save the rule.Emails will only be sent when an event is raised and not when it is edited. For example if an event is raised for one student who has achieved 100% attendance an email will be sent. If later the event is edited and more students are added, no email will be sent.
There may be a short delay between behaviour events being raised and receiving your email notification.
