# Comment banks - Welsh
Comment banks can be set up to ensure consistency in language across subjects, and allow you to set pre-written comments for staff to use while writing reports. For schools using the Welsh language, comment banks can be set up for this. There are two kinds of comment banks:
- **Private comment banks** - These are created by teachers for their own use.
- **Shared comment banks** - These are centrally managed, and are generally managed by a central team made up of school managers, report managers, curriculum leaders, and comment bank managers. These comment banks can be shared with all users.
You can view your comment banks via the **Reports** menu under the **Teacher/User** menu:
All members of staff have access to the comment banks page that lists their private comment banks, as well as their shared comment banks. Clicking the **Create a new comment bank** link allows them to create new comment banks, while clicking on an existing comment bank name will allow them to edit/share that comment bank.
When creating a new comment bank, you first need to give it a name, as well as decide if it is usable for a single year group, or all year groups:
Once created, you need to click **Add comments to the comment bank that you were just working on** link to open the comment bank editor:
Click the **Add comment** link for each new comment that you want to add to the comment bank. You can use the set of replacement terms in your comments, E.g. %firstname% is replaced with the student's first name when used. Once all of your comments are complete, click **Save** to update the comment bank:

Once your comment bank is complete, you can click on the name to make edits, as well as share with other staff members. To share the comment bank, you need to click on the link **Add or remove staff members**:
Selecting staff on the left and then clicking the **\>\>** button will add them to the shared staff list. At the bottom you have the option to send them an email with a short message to let them know the comment bank is available to them:
