# Using a school-defined grading scheme for a marksheet

Where a school manager at your school has set up either internal grading schemes or assessment grading schemes, you can find these by selecting to create a grading scheme based on a school-defined grading scheme:

Once selected you'll be presented with a list of school-defined schemes to base your marksheet scheme on:

By default the sheet will be set to the **No scaling** option, you can change this to the **Advanced** scaling option if you need to scale the marksheet grades to the markbook scheme. **Simple** scaling is not an option, as it can only be used with grades that are a subset of the markbook grades.
