# Viewing a markbook
A **markbook** is a summary of students’ grades/marks. A sample markbook for the full version of GO 4 Schools is shown below. The markbook is for **Year 11 Skills Challenge Certificate** and lists students in group **11/WB**. The qualification linked to the subject is **WJEC Foundation/National Skills Challenge Certificate**. The markbook summarises several marksheets set up by the subject leader and follows the specification of the course, eg. **Project Unigol/Individual Project**.
Key information for each student is listed on the left, such as their name, a link to their photograph, their sex, plus a variety of grades held for them. On the right hand side is a summary of the marksheets that have been set up for the subject. The summary grades for each marksheet are colour-coded. You can drill-down into a marksheet by clicking on its name. Above the markbook, a series of buttons are shown: **Grades: Reports/progress**, **Grades: Core subjects**, **Attendance**, **Behaviour** and **Documents**. These provide access to **popouts** that display additional information about students. Clicking on the labelled button will display the most recent set of information held for the popout. Clicking the ‘+’ button will show the fullest set of data, including data from previous academic years where appropriate. Please note, if a ‘+’ button is not available, it means there isn’t any historic data available to display. Clicking the ‘-‘ will hide the popout. The exact set of popouts you see will depend on the modules enabled in your GO 4 Schools subscription and the data held for students. (Please note that the **Grades**, **Attendance**, **Behaviour** and **Documents** popouts are hardwired and are not controlled via attribute sets.)
The screenshot below shows a markbook with the full historic **Demographic** popout displayed.
You can also click on the **Choose specific columns...** button to show additional data. In the example shown below, the **Demographic: Most recent: FSM** column has been chosen to display as a popout in the markbook.
Attribute sets can also be displayed here to give you additional data to view on the markbook. These can be set up by your school manager. Fore example you may want to be able to see the SEN attributes for each student as shown below.
