Consent overview

The GO 4 Schools consent functionality is an integral aspect of the core module. The consent management function enables schools to set up several consent types and then request these direct from parents and/or students.  

Consents can be managed manually with the status of the consent quickly updated by school administrators or the consent can be managed directly by parents or students through integrated GO 4 School communications, and optionally with the parental engagement module. Communication via email, SMS or notifications via the mobile app inform users that the school is requesting consent, parents and students can access all consents via the website and respond online directly to schools.

School managers can see updated consent states and then confirm these changes to update the student’s information in GO 4 Schools. The status of all consents can be easily viewed by staff on individual student pages and is also visible to parents and students who can update their decision if required which automatically informs the school. This ensures that all your school consents are effectively managed and clearly visible to all stakeholders.

Additional module requirements

Your school will need to have a subscription to the parental engagement module for parents to use the parent website to update consent information. This will also allow parents to view emails via their online inbox when consents have been requested.

If you wish to send communications by notification a subscription the mobile app is required.   

To send SMS messages to parents an account with Twilio is required.

Enable Consents

To enable consents use the Manage menu then on the settings tab of Contact details and settings click the tick box.
