The three tiers of the attendance module
The attendance module is available in three tiers of functionality, with each tier building on the previous one.
- Tier one - attendance monitoring: This tier provides schools with detailed analysis of session attendance data drawn from the school's MIS. With this tier, no attendance data is entered into GO 4 Schools, but a detailed analysis is provided of attendance data taken from your MIS, such as weekly attendance trends, and a breakdown of persistent absence by focus groups such as pupil premium students.
- Tier two - session attendance recording: This tier provides the analysis of tier one, but allows staff to record session attendance marks directly into GO 4 Schools, instead of your MIS. With this tier, session attendance marks are written back to your MIS on a daily schedule, ready for your school census.
- Tier three - session and lesson attendance recording: This tier provides the analysis and session-entry functionality of tier two, but add the ability for staff to record lesson attendance marks as well as session attendance marks into GO 4 Schools. As with tier two, session marks are written back to your MIS, but lesson marks are not, as they are not required for the census.
The three tiers are summarised below:
| Tier one | Tier two | Tier three | |
| Analysis of session marks | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Recording of session marks | No | Yes | Yes |
| Session marks written back to MIS | No | Yes | Yes |
| Recording lesson marks | No | No | Yes |
